Remy:
The miles between us grow so long as I sit here and dream
A hologram of you's just not the same
All the time I've been away I've been missing my machine
Can your auditory sensors hear me call your name?

drumbot:
This longing goes down to the core of both my cpu's
What I'm just trying to quantize is that I have missed you too

both:
Tonight's the night
In which we see
if girls and robots have compatability
Tonight's the night
We interface
drumbot: Is there a T1 hookup over at your place?

both:
Soon our separation will not be so very large
I hope by then your battery is almost fully charged

drumbot:
My processor has difficulty comprehending how
You can make a mere machine feel so alive
But why am I so crazy for this sexy meatbag now?
Who's insanely great at mounting my hard drive

Remy:
Who knows what our technophilic future has in store
All I know is that I've found the droid I'm looking for

both:
Tonight's the night
Of which we dreamed
The perfect merger between woman and machine
Tonight's the night
We interface
drumbot:
What button do I press to get past 2nd base?

Remy:
It pleases me that there's no stopping your hydraulic heart
drumbot:
Well pleasing you was always more a science than an art

Remy:
I need you here
drumbot:
I'm coming back to you my dear
Almost at your door
Remy:
I can't stand it any more
drumbot:
I can see your face
Remy:
Let me run to your embrace
drumbot:

So let the neighbors stare
We can do it anywhere

both:
Almost there x4

Everyone knows what a great drummer our Drumbot is, but how many knew that he was fully functional in other important skills as well? Well, our own Lab Tech Remy does! This song goes out to all the ladies who have a special relationship with a little electro-mechanical friend... yes, we are talking about human/robot dating here. WHAT DID YOU THINK WE WERE TALKING ABOUT?

This song started with a keyboard idea in the summer of 2011, and lay dormant for practically a year before we decided, "what the hell, we need a Remy / drumbot duet!" We already had a chorus and a few lyrical ideas by then courtesy of Billy and Barbie, and it really wasn't too tough for me to come up with a verse and a bunch of other lyrics. A writing jam session in summer 2012 finished it off with a few choice lines and then it was just a matter of recording it.

It was a bit of effort to get the guitars just cheesy enough! Chris obliged with a two hour session, playing the most cheese-tastic Bryan Adams style rubbish he could come up with, through his standard setup (his black Fender Stratocaster through a Boss Metal Zone pedal, into his faithful Fender Deluxe, miked with a Shure 57.) Bass and keyboard were done pretty conventionally (bass was Jim's purple heart custom bass through his Trace Elliot, keyboards were done on Billy's new Roland Juno.) Vocals were a little challenge; drumbot had to sound kind of flat but also kind of in key... nailed it in a couple takes, LOL. Final icing on this already syruppy cake was Chris Flattmann, who insisted on coming in to lay down some 'wakachika' porn-groovy guitar and basso vocals at the very end of the song.

A video for this song was very briefly discussed, but we concluded that there was practically no way to avoid it getting an M-rating - and if there's one thing we're NOT, it's 'Mature'!
